FREE COVID-19 Testing (Testing Sites and Registration Links Follow)
Testing and registration sites
Community testing events serve Georgia residents. The Georgia Department of Health partners with Mako Medical to offer COVID-19 testing throughout Georgia. The only eligibility requirement is that you must have a Georgia address. If you do not see events in your area, you can continue to review this page. It will be on page on which new events will be added.
This test is a polymerase chain reaction test that smears the nose to determine the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This is not an antigen or antibody test.
Registration is strongly recommended:
To register for an event, please use the appropriate event registration link. If you need help, you can call 919-351-MAKO (6256). Please check the spelling of your name and your date of birth. This information must be exactly correct in order to receive your results. When you finish registering, you will receive an email with a QR code and booking ID number. When you arrive at the test site, please show the QR code and your booking ID number to the manager so that you can proceed with your test.
You have the option to opt for result notifications through a text message when you register.
Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete the test upon arrival at the test site. Test results may be delayed due to bad weather.
MAKO will bill your insurance to the Health Resources and Services Administration.
When you register, please enter your ID number and insurance policy number or choose that you do not have insurance. If you do not have insurance but have a Social Security number, please enter your Social Security number. If you do not have a Social Security number, please testify that you do not have a Social Security number by selecting the attestation box.
Explanation of Insurance Benefits. This is not a charge.
Scenario: It's been a few weeks since you were tested for COVID-19. At the time of the test, I was told that the test was free. But, you received a letter from your insurance company.
Why did you receive a letter from your insurance company if the test was free? Don't worry – it's not a charge. It is your Explanation of Insurance Benefits (EOB). An EOB is not a charge, although it comes after you receive medical services and you may also have a list of dollar amounts. This form only serves to show how your insurance company processes a claim on your behalf.
Notification of your test results:
Once tested, you will be notified of your results within 2 or 3 days (if you registered through the patients page). To log on to the patient page, send a text with the word “MAKO” to 66349, or scan this QR code below. You can also register for results at https://mako.luminatehealth.com/
You have the option to opt for result notifications through a text message when you register.
